Officers responded to the Murrays restaurant supply building a subject seen on the roof with a broom. During the investigation, it was discovered that the subject had climbed onto the Jim-N-I auto business and pasted a mural onto the roof of the Good Price Restaurant Supply store. The subject was arrested for vandalism. Report # 14-03864

A male subject was bleeding from the face and was running around in the parking lot of the business. Officers located a possible crime scene in the parking lot, but no were victims located. While still on the scene, officers were advised that two subjects arrived at the hospital with multiple injuries. Both subjects have been admitted into the hospital. Detectives were called out to the scene, the investigation still on-going. Report # 14-03826

An officer was on routine patrol when he located a stolen vehicle driving north bound on Pennsylvania Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was taken into custody without incident. The driver was arrested for grand theft, auto and possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into Central Detention Center. Report # 14-03807

Officers responded regarding a death investigation. A 47 year old female passed away of apparent natural causes. The Coroner was contacted and the deceased was released to the family. Report # 14-03770
Jul 22, 8:24 AM. Area of 7th and Olive
An officer saw a suspicious subject in an alleyway and made contact. During the contact the officer observed a narcotic violation and attempted to make an arrest. Jul 22, 12:23 AM. 1400 block of North 9th St
Officers responded regarding a suspicious subject attempting to open the door to the caller’s house. On arrival, officers conducted an area check and located a subject on the porch of another residence nearby. The subject then ran from officers who gave chase. During the foot pursuit a Taser was deployed and the subject was taken into custody. The subject was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Report # 14-03762

Officers responded to a robbery at a business. The clerk stated that 2 unidentified Black male adults, wearing bandanas and glasses, entered the business and robbed him at gun point. The suspects fled the business with cash and a large amount of cigarettes. They were last seen fleeing the area Westbound on Valley in a gray vehicle. Report #14-03746

Officers responded regarding a death investigation. A 64 yr old male subject passed away of apparent natural causes. The Coroner was contacted and the deceased was released to the family. Report # 14-03730
Jul 20, 4:43 AM. 100 block of West Valley Bl
Officers responded regarding a subject leaving without paying. A juvenile entered the restaurant and ordered approximately $25.00 in food and had no money on his person. After eating the food, the juvenile suspect tried walking out of the restaurant without paying. The waitress attempted to stop him, but the suspect turned and attempting to hit her. He then ran out the restaurant fleeing the scene. An area check was conducted and the suspect was located a short distance away. The suspect was identified by the victim and arrested and cited for robbery and released to his grandmother. Report #14-03728
Jul 19, 11:51 PM. Area of Meridian and C St
Officers responded regarding a traffic collision of a motorcycle verses a vehicle. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed passing vehicles when it collided into the back of a vehicle at the intersection of Meridian and C Street. The driver of the motorcycle sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Colton Fire. The investigation is still on-going. Report # 14-03724
Jul 19, 8:18 PM. 1400 block of North Mt Vernon
Officers responded regarding a robbery in front of the business. The victim stated that he was robbed at gun point by a Hispanic male adult and a White female adult. The suspects had approached him, with the male brandishing a hand gun, and they took the victims cell phone and money. The suspects then ran to a waiting vehicle and fled the scene in a dark colored Honda Accord. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03722

Officers responded regarding a death investigation. A 40+ year old female found deceased in her bed, no unusual circumstances found. The case was referred to the Coroner’s office and the investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03711
Jul 18, 6:11 PM. Area of Washington and Mt Vernon
An officer was on routine patrol when he observed a subject riding a motorcycle westbound doing a wheelie. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the motorcycle accelerated at a high rate of speed fleeing from the officer. The officer attempted to catch up to the motorcycle and found the subject had crashed, laying the motorcycle down as he tried to turn north onto MT Vernon. The subject was arrested as he was trying to pick up his motorcycle and was taken into custody without incident. Report # 14-03704
Jul 18, 1:47 AM. 1200 block of North Mt Vernon
Officers respond regarding a subject armed with a baseball bat smashing windows at the Jack-n the Box. Upon arrival the female had fled and was still armed with the bat. Officers located the suspect at Mt Vernon & C St. She refused to follow officer’s commands to drop the bat and fled in the middle lanes of Mt Vernon swinging the bat at officers as they followed. Officers were able to convince her to drop the bat and when she did she was taken into custody without anyone being injured. Report # 14-03693
Jul 17, 4:30 PM. 1600 block of North Macy
A detective was driving in the area when he saw two suspicious subjects at a residence and he pulled his unmarked vehicle over to watch to determine what they were doing. While observing the subjects, they appeared to be attempting to break into the residence. The officer identified himself and attempted to make contact with the subjects and they fled. He detained one suspect, another fled and hid in the area. Officers set up perimeter and located the 2nd suspect hiding in the backyard of a nearby house. Investigation revealed suspects were responsible for another burglary in neighborhood on July 15. Both suspects were booked into county jail for attempted burglary and possession of stolen property. An officer was on routine patrol when a vehicle in front of him made a suspicious turn which appeared to be an attempt to flee from the officer. The officer followed the vehicle until back-up officers arrived and then a felony traffic stop was conducted. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was a confirmed to be reported stolen from Rialto. Report # 14-03674
Jul 17, 12:58 AM. Area of Illinois Ave and Scenic Dr
An officer was conducting an area check regarding an alert from San Bernardino PD of a vehicle stolen from their city. The stolen vehicle was located parked at Virginia and Scenic Dr. Officers attempt to setup a stake out, but the vehicle was seen leaving the area and officers followed. A felony traffic stop was conducted with one male driver and one female passenger taken into custody without incident. Report # 14-03673

Officers responded regarding numerous subjects squatting in a vacant residence. The subjects fled prior to the arrival of officers, but four of the subjects were located, resulting in arrests for warrants and drug violations. Report # 14-03664

An officer was on routine patrol when he observed a subject pushing a motorcycle north on Grand Ave. He conducted a vehicle/pedestrian check and the motorcycle was found to be a reported as a stolen vehicle on May 29. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and the vehicle recovered. Report # 14-02705

Officers respond regarding a possible robbery in progress where the store clerk was fighting with a customer. On arrival it was discovered that the store clerk had attempted to stop a subject who tried to run out of the store with beer without paying. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03646
Jul 15, 8:42 PM. 1600 block of North Macy Ave
An officer responded regarding a residential burglary investigation. The victim reported that the suspect(s) had shut off the power to the residence via the breaker box to the home. In another burglary investigation the officer made contact with the victim of a separate burglary where the power was also turned off at that residence via the breaker box, however entry was not made into the home. The victim advised the officer that similar circumstances have occurred at neighboring residences where the power was turned off by unknown subject(s) via the breaker box. It appears that these incidents are occurring during the day time hours while the residents are at work. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03645

Officers conducted follow-up investigation on an earlier carjacking incident with the assistance of County Probation. The investigation led to the arrest of one of the two female suspects. The stolen vehicle is still being sought. Report # 14-03507

Officers responded to assist Colton Fire regarding a residence fire. The garage of a vacant, boarded up residence was seen on fire by a passer-by. Colton Fire extinguished the fire, with no additional damage to surrounding structures. Investigation is on-going. Report 14-03650
Jul 14, 10:22 PM. 200 block of Sperry Dr
Officers respond regarding a subject attempting to rent a room with a fraudulent credit card. Contact was made at the room with three subjects, and in the course of that contact, two hand guns and approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine were located. All subjects were arrested for various drug charges and booked into Central Detention Center. Report # 14-03623

Officers responded regarding a fire that was possibly due to arson. The fire burned down the garage of a vacant residence. Follow-up investigation led to the identification of a suspect, who was located by an officer in the area. The suspect booked at county jail for arson. Report # 14-03650

Officers responded regarding a commercial burglary in progress. Unknown suspects smashed the glass storefront and stole a quantity of cigarettes. Investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03610
Jul 12, 5:50 PM. Colton High School on Valley Bl
Officers responded regarding a burglary in progress. 6 juvenile suspects broke into the school auto shop and damaged property and spray painted the walls, floors, and shop equipment in the class room. Suspects were seen inside the classroom with the spray paint can in hand and they fled from the class room as the witness was calling 911. Officers arrived and the suspects fled but were detained and identified by the witness. The suspects were arrested and cite released to their parents. Report # 14-03580
Jul 11, 8:59 PM. 99-Cent Store on Mt Vernon
Officers were in the area conducting an investigation on a traffic collision when they saw a female subject being chased by an employee of the store. The subject ran toward the officers’ location and was found to have merchandise that was shoplifted from the store. The suspect was booked into County jail. Report # 14-03559

Jul 8, 1:51 PM. Area of Lawren & Citrus
Officers responded regarding a shooting. An adult male victim went to a residence in the 800 block of West Citrus to confront his marijuana dealer regarding and unpaid debt. The contact resulted in the victim being beaten up then shot at as he left. The suspect was identified and his home was searched but he was not found. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-03486

Officers responded regarding a citizen report of young unattended children loitering at the location late at night. The children’s home was located through investigation, and their mother was found to be intoxicated and failed to exercise proper care. The mother was arrested for child endangerment and children were taken into protective custody by Child Protective Services. Report # 14-03448

Officers responded regarding an assault. Five suspects fled the location and three were detained. On further investigation the circumstance was determined to be a mutual fight. All persons were released, with the report to be submitted to DA's office for review. Report # 14-03435

Officers responded regarding a domestic disturbance. The adult male suspect fought with family members and bit a 17 year-old male victim on the chest causing visible injury. The suspect was booked into County jail. Report # 14-03429

Officers responded to burglary alarm and discovered that unknown suspects had forced entry into the location. Suspects could not be located. Report # 14-03417
Jul 5, 12:53 AM. Area of G and 3rd St
An officer was on routine patrol when a vehicle in front of the Police car accelerated to a high rate of speed, made a sharp turn and sped through an intersection without regard for the stop sign. The driver bailed from the moving vehicle, which collided with a parked vehicle causing minor damage. The suspect vehicle was discovered to be a stolen vehicle from Corona. The suspect was apprehended after a foot pursuit and booked into County jail. Report # 14-03414

Additional officers and an additional Dispatcher provided support for patrol by responding to fireworks calls. Animal Services Officer also provided assistance to deal with several stray dog calls throughout the evening.

Jul 2, 11:38 PM. 1200 Block of N Mt Vernon
An officer was on routine patrol when he attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle. The motorcyclist refused to yield making an abrupt U-turn and fleeing in the opposite direction. The subject fled Southbound on Mt Vernon when he hit a center median, lost control of his motorcycle, and died from injuries sustained when he crashed. See Press Release Report #14-03389

Officers responded regarding a welfare check. Five intoxicated adult males were sleeping overnight at Davis Park and they were approached by three Hispanic adult male suspects who expressed disapproval of the intoxicated victims loitering in the park overnight. A fight ensued between the subjects. Report # 14-03320

Officers responded regarding a subject reported to be striking mailboxes with his fists. An intoxicated adult male subject was located and he immediately challenged officer to fight. The subject was unable to care for his own well being and was arrested for disorderly conduct. Report # 14-03318

Officers responded regarding a possible DUI driver. Officers located and stopped a motor home for traffic violations and the adult driver was arrested for DUI. An adult passenger was also arrested for disorderly conduct. The vehicle was later found to be an unreported stolen vehicle from Temecula. Both suspects match description from video surveillance recording of the vehicle theft and they were booked into County jail. Report # 14-03302

Officers responded regarding a single vehicle traffic collision into an electrical pole and wall. During the investigation it was discovered that the driver was intoxicated, and he was subsequently arrested for DUI. Report # 14-03281

An officer was on routine patrol when he attempted to stop a vehicle for a violation. The driver fled from the officer and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle collided with the curb, losing a wheel and it came to a stop. The driver fled the area, but a passenger was taken into custody at the scene. The driver was located a short distance away and taken into custody without incident. Both subjects were arrested for grand theft, auto and receiving stolen property. Report #14-03252

Officers responded regarding a domestic disturbance. The victim reported that the suspect broke into her house and hit her. Officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of North Rancho regarding a report of a stolen vehicle. A short time later, the car was located driving northbound on Mt Vernon Ave occupied by one female subject. The vehicle was pulled over, and the female driver was arrested without incident. An officer responded regarding stolen property. The victim was at the baseball park watching a baseball game. When the game was over, she noticed that her purse was missing. Report # 14-03064

Officers responded regarding a report of a man brandishing a machete. When officers arrived, a male and female obstructed, and delayed investigating officers. The adult male subject physically interfered, fought with officers, and was arrested. The adult female subject was arrested for attempting to free the male prisoner from officers. The original brandishing suspect was positively identified by the victim and he was taken into custody without incident. Report # 14-03014

Officers responded regarding a residential burglary. Through investigation, the suspect was identified and the property was recovered at a nearby location. An area check was conducted, but the suspect could not be located. Report # 14-02937

Officers responded regarding a man with a gun at the Bus Depot. The suspect struggled with officers, which resulted in an Officer Involved Shooting. See Press Release Report # 14-02934
Jun 5, 1:28 PM. 1300 block of North Rancho Ave
Officers responded along with Colton Fire and Paramedics regarding a death investigation. An elderly person was found in their bed with no signs of life. There were no signs of foul play and the death is believed to be of natural causes. Report # 14-02849
Jun 4, 8:19 PM. Area of Olive and Serrano
Officers responded regarding a robbery. A Hispanic male adult displayed a small, black handgun and demanded the female victim's gold chain. The victim complied and the suspect entered a vehicle being driven by a second suspect. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-02838
Jun 4, 3:37 AM. Area of Joyce and Merrill, Rialto
Officers were checking the area for a stolen vehicle. Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle and conducted an occupied vehicle check. During contact with the subjects, a male suspect was being taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and he attempted to flee the area on foot. The suspect was caught and while the officers attempted to cuff the suspect, he became combative and struck an officer. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and booked into West Valley Detention Center for resisting an officer and possession of a controlled substance. Report # 14-02821

May 31, 10:07 PM. 1700 block of Terrace Ave
Officers responded regarding a man brandishing a weapon. The female victim reported that her ex-boyfriend brandished his handgun toward her and fled the location in a vehicle. Report # 14-02767

Officers responded along with Colton Fire regarding a suspicious fire. The second floor coaches football viewing booth was found to be on fire. The investigation is on-going. Report # 14-02764
May 31, 12:39 AM. 1600 block of East Cooley
Officers responded regarding a burglary in progress. Two suspects entered building and removed property. A security guard witnessed the crime in progress and called police. The first adult male suspect was apprehended without incident as he emerged from business. The second adult male suspect fled from officers into an adjacent business and was apprehended after foot pursuit. Report # 14-02751
May 30, 12:17 PM. Gonzales Center on North Colton Ave
Officers responded regarding a request to remove a subject. After staff made several requests for the subject to follow safety rules were ignored, the subject was asked to leave, but he refused. The subject refused to leave when officers asked, so a citizen arrest form was signed and the subject was arrested for trespassing and removed from the property. Report # 14-02738
May 27, 9:26 PM. Area of Berkeley and Rosedale
Officers responded regarding a man brandishing a gun. Two suspects drove through the neighborhood pointing a handgun at several residents. Officers located the suspect vehicle parked on Lark Street and the investigation led to the arrest of the suspect who was identified by the victims. Report # 14-02673
May 27, 2:06 AM. 400 block of West E St
Officers responded regarding a disturbance between a brother and sister. The brother had reportedly made a statement that he was going to kill himself and as he left the house, a gunshot was heard. Officers found the subject standing in the driveway acting irrationally. The subject told officers that he was going to arm himself with his gun and attempted to walk into the house. Officers were forced to take the subject into custody by force. A loaded shotgun was found in the subject's bedroom near the doorway and a fired shotgun shell was also found. The subject advised that he wanted to die and was planning a suicide by cop. Report # 14-02654

Officers responded to assist Colton and Loma Linda fire units at a structure fire. After the fire was contained a ladder truck boom contacted live electrical wires resulting three injured Loma Linda firefighters. Report # 14-02621

Officers responded regarding a male and female arguing. The adult male suspect battered his cohabitant girlfriend. The suspect failed to follow commands and fought with officers and had to be taken into custody by force. The suspect was booked into County jail on charges of spousal abuse. Report # 14-02620
May 24, 9:12 PM. 1000 block of North Mt Vernon
Officers responded regarding a possible hit and run collision and discovered evidence related to a commercial burglary. A male adult suspect had entered a store, took lottery tickets from behind counter, and fled in a vehicle driven by a female. That vehicle was involved in a collision nearby and abandoned. The suspects were identified through investigation and the stolen property was recovered. Both suspects were located and booked into County jail. Report # 14-02614

Officers responded regarding a fight between adult brothers. The suspect struck the victim in head with beer bottle causing minor injuries and then fled prior to police arrival. The victim did not desire prosecution. Report # 14-02599

Officers responded regarding a burglary alarm activation. Unknown suspect pried the lock on a storage container and took sports equipment. Report # 14-02583
May 22, 10:47 PM. Custom Moulding on West D St
Officers responded regarding a death investigation. A male adult subject reported feeling ill and collapsed after vomiting blood. Coworkers called 911 and paramedics found the subject had expired. The Coroner responded and determined that death was non-criminal, related to a chronic health condition. Report # 14-02580

Officers responded regarding a mutual fight between adult male and adult female siblings. Minor injuries to both. Report # 14-02579
May 21, 1:15 AM. hours. Area of Rancho and Valley
Officers engaged in a pursuit when a motorcycle was seen driving at a high rate of speed. The suspect drove Eastbound on Interstate 10 at about 130 MPH. Officers lost the suspect in the area of Palm and 5th street in Highland, but approximately 10 minutes later, the suspect drove through the intersection of Rancho and Valley and was detained by the officers after he attempted to drive through an officer. The suspect vehicle collided with a police unit causing moderated damage to both vehicles. The suspect was taken into custody and he was booked at West Valley Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence, evading police, and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a male subject who was acting strange and standing in the middle of the street. As the officers approached him, he took a fighting stance and attempted a round house kick. The officers were forced to take the subject into custody by force. The suspect was treated at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and booked at West Valley Detention Center on charges of resisting an officer. Report # 14-02524

Officers responded regarding a non-injury traffic collision. A semi-truck struck a concrete light pole with the trailer wheels while exiting Ashley Furniture driveway. Report # 14-02492

An officer was on routine patrol when he was flagged down regarding a fight that was occurring. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and later died of his injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene. See Press Release Report # 14-02491
May 17, 8:49 PM. 2000 block of West San Bernardino
Officers responded regarding a domestic disturbance. A male adult subject was reportedly battering the mother of his child. The female ran from the apartment to seek safety with officers. The male failed to follow officer commands and charged at the female attempting to continue battering her. The suspect was taken into custody by force and booked to County jail. Report # 14-02478
May 17, 8:34 PM. Colton High School on Valley
Officer responded regarding a fight at the Relay for Life event. A 17 year-old male victim was playing with a young child when an unknown male battered the 17 year-old victim for unknown reasons. The suspect was gone when officer arrived. Report # 14-02479
May 17,4:55 PM. Area of South Cooley and East Cooley
Officers responded regarding a traffic collision. A vehicle was heading Westbound on Cooley when it struck a power pole and sheared it off causing a major safety issue for the surrounding residents. The residents on the North side of Cherrywood and the South side of Overland between Cooley and Cisco/Forrest were evacuated for 3 hours until the power could be shut down on the 3 power lines affected by the collision. Once the power was shut down the residents were able to return to their homes. The two occupants of the vehicle involved in the collision were not injured. Report # 14-02475

Officers responded regarding a burglary alarm activation. Unknown suspects smashed the west facing window, entered the business, and took property. Report # 14-02465

Officers responded regarding a robbery. Two male suspects stole beer and verbally threatened to shoot the clerk if he followed. No weapon was seen. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. An area check was conducted but the suspects were not located. Report # 14-02375

An officer was on routine patrol when he saw a male adult subject who was simulating the act of aiming a handgun at passing motorists as well as his marked black and white police vehicle. The subject refused to obey the officer’s commands and approached the officer. The officer determined that he was not actually armed, and he was taken into custody. Report # 14-02360

An officer was on routine patrol when he saw subjects that appeared to be fighting. An adult male suspect had battered two males and a female victim. The female victim sustained lacerations to the back of her head from falling to the ground but she refused medical aid. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into County jail on charges of battery. Report # 14-02340
May 8, 8:58 PM. 2000 block of North Rancho
Officers responded regarding a domestic disturbance. A male suspect pulled the female victim’s hair and threw her down causing facial bruising and scratches. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. A firearm was taken for safekeeping. The suspect was later contacted and detained by San Bernardino PD at a disturbance in their city. Colton officers responded and took the suspect into custody. Report # 14-02318

Officers responded regarding a person that appeared to be dead. A 60 year old subject with health issues was found by a family member. Attempts to revive the subject were not successful. Death appeared to be of natural causes and the scene was turned over to the Coroner’s office. Report # 14-02305
May 7, 3:15 AM. 300 block of East D St
Officers responded regarding a possible peeping tom. After searching the neighborhood, officers located the suspect hiding in a side yard. The suspect was in possession of a syringe and burglary tools and was detained. During the investigation, officers learned of several similar calls for service in the same general area and questioned the suspect as to his involvement. Under Miranda, the suspect admitted to being responsible for many of incidents in Colton. The suspect was found to have two active warrants out of Riverside County for prowling and one prior arrest for the same in the city of Fontana. The suspect was booked at the Central Detention Center. Report # 14-02277

An officer was on routine patrol when he saw a vehicle make a sudden move that looked suspicious. The officer conducted a traffic stop to check on the driver and the vehicle. A stolen, loaded handgun was found. During the investigation, several fired cartridge casings were also found in the vehicle. The suspect was booked at the Central Detention Center as a felon in possession of a firearm and other charges.. Report # 14-02257

Officers responded regarding a disturbance involving an intoxicated subject. The adult female subject was contacted at the location and she charged at officers with intent to commit physical battery. She was taken into custody and charged with assault on a police officer. Report # 14-02227

Officers responded regarding a domestic disturbance. The caller reported that her husband was intoxicated and was trying to leave in a vehicle. The adult male subject was contacted at the location inside a vehicle on the roadway. The subject resisted being placed into the rear of a patrol unit and was taken into custody by force. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on charges of resisting an officer. Report # 14-02224

Officers responded regarding a female subject acting strangely. Officers stopped the adult female while she was trying to drive away from the location. She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Her two minor children were with her in the car, placing them in danger because of her impairment while driving. She was taken into custody and booked into the West Valley Detention Center on charges of child endangerment. Report # 14-02209

Officers responded regarding gunshots heard. A white BMW 5-series was seen leaving the area but it is unknown if that is related. Officers conducted an area check but no suspects were located. Report # 14-02205

Officers responded regarding a traffic collision. A vehicle was traveling at high speed and rear-ended a pickup loaded with house paint. The driver of the striking vehicle was found to be suicidal and distracted because of a breakup with his girlfriend and he was taken into custody. The collision resulted in an extended roadway closure to clean debris and spilled paint from roadway. Report # 14-02203
May 1, 5:43 AM. Area of Pepper and Valley
Officers responded regarding a single vehicle traffic collision. The driver stated that he fell asleep, leaving the roadway and striking a light pole. Driver had a complaint of pain and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Colton Electric was called out to scene to remove the damaged light pole from the roadway.
